Horniman Museum

This museum has lots of intereting things. But I like its garden the most .The Horniman Gardens is a unique site of 16 acres of award-winning, beautifully and natural landscapes, it has delightful rose and sunken gardens and ethno-botanical planting, to enchanting wild flower displays and a number of unique sundials. That is why it so special.

I like the aquarium there even though it's quite small,it attracts many children.

This museum makes me see different interesting things all over the world. I think im gonna go there for another visit soon.

Telling Tales

Telling Tales in V&A

I have to say this exhibition is amazing!!Before i went inside I was attracted by the plant lights outside the whole wall outside. It changed all the time. The color changed as well . And I particularly like the moment when the flowers come out!!

It has three sections..The first section shows us many different kinds of strange furnitures. I really like the printing of the floor and walls and shape of chairs . The forest glade which draws on fantasy and nature expressing the spirit of fairy tales, the enchanted castle which exaggerates and parodies historical design styles often associated with displays of status and heaven and hell which deals with themes of mortality and the afterlife.

And also in the third section , we can see some really tiny animals ,they look really.I think the designer want to remind us we should protect animals during our daily life for the environment.

Brixton

Lido &Cafe


I went to the Lido &Cafe. This picture shows the front gate of it.

I didn;t dind any artwork inside so I asked the stuff working there, he smiled and said the painting on the wall in the front of the gate can be regarded as a kind of art.

Actually, I saw a big painting ong the whole door, it's made of ceramic tile . It's so colourful that mix of red ,orange ,yellow blue ,green.....

I think everbody who passed it will want to have a cup of coffee inside.

Though the Cafe, I found a swimming pool and nobody swimming because the weather is so cold.

The swimming pool is not big(50x100) but nice

If Lido&Cafe can be built near stores,then I think it will be ignored because it looks a little bit strange.

Mask


I bought a Halloween Mask in the 99 P store which located at the opposite of Brixton Tube Station.







It scared me so much when I first saw it ,although it's fake. Because it reminds me a scary movie named "SCREAM".







The colour of it is red and black. It's made of plastic.







If it can be showed in the market stall, it must be sold well because it attracts people and it is so cheap .Everyone can afford it. It is a good tool to fool somebody else by the way.









Baby Powder



I bought a Baby Powder in a market stall at Brixton Market.

It has 20 sticks.

It is packed by sliver tinfoil. It has fragrance.

When I first saw it, I did not know what exactly it is. I asked the boss, he told me it has good smell and it can be used in many ways like kill insect......

It cost me 1 pound.

The boss who sells it told me he has worked there 1.5 years. he sells everything about mobile telephones and some other useful things.

It can be funny if it is displayed in art gallery because I believe many people won't know about it just like me. I'm trying to imagine a huge artwork( transformer ) is fully made of thinner Baby Powder!!

I still do not know why it is called Baby Powder. Does it has related to the Baby?

Maybe In China it is named 香熏.

I also asked the boss and the Baby Powder to have a picture together.
